About Avenida
Isabel Saiz
Founder of Avenida Home
I founded Avenida Home in 2010 with an instinct rather than a plan. I was drawn to the idea that everyday objects, the things we use around the table or live with at home, could carry beauty, humour and emotional depth without becoming precious. I wanted to create pieces that felt considered but easy, expressive yet functional, and able to sit naturally in people’s lives.
From the beginning, my work has been shaped by long-standing relationships with artists, makers and specialist manufacturers across Europe. Each collection starts with an image, a drawing, a painting, sometimes a fragment of an idea, and develops through dialogue and experimentation. The challenge has always been how to translate something poetic into an object that is practical, durable and meant to be used, not simply admired.
Avenida Home has never followed a fixed aesthetic. Instead, it has evolved through collaboration and curiosity, guided by a belief in craftsmanship and longevity. I work with manufacturers who have deep expertise in their field, from Scandinavian tray factories to European mills workshops, allowing each piece to honour both its artistic origin and its everyday purpose. Over time, the collections have grown into an identity that feels balanced and recognisable, without ever being locked into one look.
In recent years, the brand has entered a new chapter with the arrival of my son, Luis, into the business. His involvement has brought a fresh perspective and a strong understanding of modern retail and international markets. Our collaboration is
a conversation between generations balancing intuition with structure, creativity with clarity and it has helped sharpen the direction of the brand while remaining true to its foundations.
Today, Avenida Home is an established design house with a global presence, yet it remains deeply personal. It is built on relationships, long-term collaborations and a hands-on approach to every stage of the process. At its heart, Avenida Home continues to reflect my belief that the objects we live with should tell stories quietly, joyfully, and with a sense of permanence.
